Targeted Genotyping

Focused panels of selected SNPs can be useful to follow-up on candidate biomarkers identified using whole-genome analysis or as a collection of SNPs are related by location, function, pathway, or other criteria. For projects requiring a focused panel of SNPs, Beckman Coulter Genomics offers the following genotyping services:

Disease-Specific Panels

Algynomics Pain Research Panel contains over 3500 SNPs representing 320+ genes whose protein products are linked to biological pathways that influence transmission of pain, inflammatory responses to tissue injury and psychological stress, as well as genes involved in mood and effect. The Pain Research Panel enables a comprehensive analysis of the genetic factors associated with clinical pain states using analyses specifically developed for this purpose. These analyses allow researchers to better understand the pathophysiology of pain conditions and identify valuable clinical biomarkers.

Sequenom Oncocarta* Panel. Beckman Coulter Genomics offers a ready-to-use oncogene panel, the Sequenom Oncocarta Panel The Oncocarta Panel is the most comprehensive multi-gene genotyping panel available for profiling rare somatic mutations, analyzing 19 oncogenes and 238 mutations in 24 multiplexes, enabling cancer researchers to rapidly profile genetic changes associated with tumor initiation and progression

Custom/Multiplex Assay Development

iSelect Infinium Custom Genotyping allows the design of a custom panel that includes SNPs numbering from 6,000 to 60,800 deployed on a 12-sample BeadChip format.

Beckman Coulter Genomics uses the Affymetrix GeneChip* Scanner 3000 7G MegAllele System, with MIP (molecular inversion probes). MIP is an innovative assay technology that addresses the challenges of a targeted approach by offering flexible multiplexing from 1,500 to 20,000 SNPs per individual assay.

Individual SNP Genotyping

For the analysis of small panels of 1-50 genetic variations in smaller sample sizes, projects are designed according to customer preferences, TAT or target regions using Applied Biosystems TaqMan* platform, Sequencing or PCR/Gel-based assays. Beckman Coulter Genomics has extensive experience in analyzing pharmacogenetically relevant markers such as phase I and II drug metabolizing enzymes, drug transporters, receptors and others.

High Throughput and Multi-plexed Genotyping

Sequenom MassARRAY* platform, for high throughput targeted genotyping. The Sequenom system is ideal when analyzing from 25 - 1,000 SNPs. Custom assay design, development and validation are available.
