Residual DNA Testing

Cell bank-derived products (like recombinant protein or DNA) frequently need to be tested for residual, contaminating bacterial or mammalian DNA. Using the ABI PRISM 7900HT qPCR Sequence Detection System platform and our clients’ choice of standard assay or custom target-specific assay, Beckman Coulter Genomics can quantitate residual DNA using either an extraction or dilution method. Benefits of Beckman Coulter Genomics’ residual DNA testing service include:

  • Superior quality DNA extraction
  • Detection of <200 fg/reaction of E. coli, mouse, CHO, or human genomic DNA
  • Duplicate or triplicate replicates
  • High throughput capacity
  • Research and Regulated services

Samples

Clients submit test articles (protein, bulk product, or swabs) and controls (purified plasmid DNA and host genomic DNA). Beckman Coulter Genomics provides high quality DNA extraction and purification services as part of the offering.

Results

All reports are available via Beckman Coulter Genomics’ secure FTP site, email, or mail. The Final Report includes a description of the overall project design, output from the ABI 7900HT System (including experimental reports, standard curves, and amplification plots), and determination of the Ct (amplification threshold value) for each sample. Duplicate reactions are reported individually along with the sample mean and variation. For regulated projects, a quality assurance statement is also included.
